I've seen it, but I don't really like it, especially if it's more than 2 colors. One version is called chromillusion.

Are you talking a pearl over coat??? The pearl colors like the old white mustangs Ford did back in the day that had a blue pearl shot over white so that when you looked at it at the right angle it would reflect a blue hue across the white paint. Any color can be made into a pearl. There is also the metallic flake or rainbow flake, it won't change as much as a pearl paint but does change the color slightly also makes it more shiney or glittery. As for part numbers or brands I don't know. I know a good pearl paint job for the Jams, inside fenders, under hood etc will run you about 3-8k depending on how many colors, painter, layers etc. There was someone on here awhile ago that did a black base(original paint) with either a purple or blue pearl coat over the top. Never posted pics though. I want to do a midnight blue with a dark purple or lighter blue pearl. Hope this helps.

Most people call it chameleon, and you can find it just about anywhere. just do a search for it if you want more pics.

you cannot purchase the same Ford Mystic color. If you ever need that Ford color painted, Ford would send out a rep with the paint. This is because the color had something to do with printed money. I know this because we run a body shop and had to do repairs on a Mustang with this color.

You could go with the TransAm color called Mystic Teal. The color for the 97 models was better than the later years.

DuPont paint company makes the Chromillusion, and PPG paint company makes the Chamelleon. they look the same, that is just the name the company gave them. be prepared to spend some money for it. we got a pint of the chromillusion when i was in high school and it cost something like 240-250.

If you only wanted flames, you shouldn't need much more than a pint anyway.

originally, it was Dupont who made it, called Chromalusion offered in the Chroma Premier line. House of Kolor has called it Chameleon, and PPG called it Harlequinn. personally, i prefer Chromalusion over any other brand. a quart of Chromalusion does run you $754 at my place or shop price for $540, but you dont need much because this is probably the fastest covering paint; it has all kinds of tints. i know one with 32 different shades, and i think somebody in Cardomain.com has a car with that paint.
