It's just too bad you guys don't live on the border with Mexico; you can get tinting for about 50 bucks with 3M window film down here. I payed 10 bucks last year to get my T-tops done with dark 3M window film.

Quick question.. what is the percentage of the limo tint? 5%, 10%? Also what is this dot matrix that was mentioned with the rear hatch?

Limo tint is 5%. It's the darkest you can get before double layering it. The dot matrix is on the upper part of the rear glass. When tint is placed over it, it starts to bubble and won't stick there. Some people lay a piece of vinyl over it first to dark it all out. There are a few different fixes for it.

5% gotcha.. how bad is 5% at night? A buddy of mine has to lower his window to see at night.

A good tinting shop should be familiar with that issue, ya think? Or should I make a mention of the issue?

5% is pretty dark at night. If you're in a well lit area then it's not really a problem. But if you go down a dark street with no street lights,,it's pretty hard to see. If I have to back out of somewhere with caution at night, I open my door and stick my head out since I can't see out the back window. If you pull up to a car with your side windows up,,you can't really see the person next to you in detail..maybe just the profile of them.

The shop I got mine done at knew of the problem regarding the dot matrix..so I would say knowledgable tiniting shops would know what you're talking about. I would bring it up to them just so they know.

Yeah that's basically what he has to do when backing out.. Might have to rethink the limo tint thought Sounds like a pain in the *** to me.
