I have a carbon fiber lid my question is could I sand it down and paint it SOM to match or should I do the rest of the engine bay in carbon fiber.

 

i say leave it CF bu dont overdo the engine bay tho...

 

its just up to you. if you want you can paint carbon fiber. either way would look good imo.

 

I painted my old carbon fiber lid for a friend a cameleon color. Hwne you sand it, just use fairly fine paper to scuff it. The carbon fiber has a protective covering over it and if you sand down through that the fiber will poke right out.

I'd leave it carbon fiber. An SOM lid would be over doing it IMO. Maybe put a SOM bird decal or WS6 decal on it instead.

 

i wouldnt mess up a CF lid, i think they look sweet. if you had a regular black lid, i'd say go ahead and paint it, but leave the CF the way it is. like said above put a decal or something on it.
