New blank canvas to modify - 2005 Corvette
Today was a long day! Stayed out too late last night drinking with some friends, woke up after 4 hours with a slight hangover and then Lisa and I took the 3.5 hour trip up to Plano (North of Dallas) to pick up the new 2005 Corvette. I got a nice deal on the car, $3K off of MSRP. Here in Houston they want 2-7K OVER MSRP. That wasn't going to happen!
Nice dealership up there, didn't haggle on price or anything. I simply handled the purchasing via email mostly. Told them what I would pay, and they said 'no problem'. I'd highly recommend Huffines Chevrolet in Plano, TX to anyone, they were good to work with. Ask for Rob Dingwall.
So, the convertible SS is at it's new owner's home in St Louis, and my garage space is occupied by this stealthy looking ride:

These cars are SO nice to drive. Much tighter/quieter inside than the C5s I've driven. Virtually no wind or road noise comes into the cabin. The seats are just sweet, I'd love to have a pair of those for every car I own. I put 248 miles on the car driving it home, it only had 7 miles on it when we picked it up. It easily feels like a mid-12 second car, and the LS2 engine has a nice throttle response.
I really like the stock wheels on this car, but when I get around to replacing them they will be something like iForged or HRE wheels with black centers, similar to how Diesel's Z06 looks. That car inspired me to buy a black C6

There's just no stopping you...seems like a car a month
Congrats on the new choice. I'm sure you'll be really happy with it.
*I* would go with the iForged Classics with a black powdercoat center and polished lip.

The new Vettes are beautiful amazing cars. I haven't had the chance to drive one yet but I hope to sometime. They continue the great Corvette tradition but I'm starting to wonder if they can get better than the most recent?
