"what a waste of time and money...

just save up for a 98 and you'll have the LS1 to go along with it"

He probably paid like $20,000 for his Silver02TA and feels a little pissed that we could have the same look, but with the LT1 (which is still awesome) for a fourth of what he paid and yet we still get the same women. lol
Also, I`ve heard that a Ram Air inducted LT1 is faster in the 1/8th than an LS1. That could upset him. My dad wants to add on to his house. I told him to save his money and go buy a new one.

I plan on doing it to my 1993 TA. My insurance will be a hell of a lot cheaper since the car is older, plus the engine is a ground stomping 383. It has all of the power it needs, and it doesn't need to be an LS1 since it hauls so much *** anyways. It will also give me an excuse to have ghost flames painted on there. I personally love both engines. Does tennesseeauto.com include absolutely everything for the kit, even the ram air hood?

LS1 and LT1 comparisons are well documented and over-debated, but most people agree that in stock form there is no comparison. I also don't think he is worried that you will be taking any women away from him

I dont think he could care less how much you pay for "the look"...LS1's are getting pretty old some of them... there is a formula for sale here in town for 8,995... I dont know how many miles it has on it... sometimes its better to buy a new set of chrome wheels and sell the ones you have than to have your old set chromed... because you arent' going to get much for the left over parts from the conversion....know what I mean?

I guess if you get some super steal of a lifetime or something you know buy the car from the guy who has 1 month to live and just needs a 1000 bucks of spending money, then go for it.

In the end, a conversion is just that, and you will probably end up going with something else anyways.

I converted my last car a black 94 formula to a silver 97 style WS6... bumpers front and rear, hatch with uplevel spoiler, ram air hood, factory rocker panels, newer style center console, WS6 wheels and all the trimmings and emblems even swapped out the seats for some leather power ones out of newer trans am. I LOVED that car, but when it was all over with, a couple of years went by and I found another car, with less miles and rattles and little things that happen to cars as they get close to 150k miles on them. The converted car had things about it that just weren't real easy to fix visually and they bugged me every time I looked at it. Like I was afraid that someone would be able to tell it was a conversion. I was able to sell the old car to an enthusiastic buyer (who told me as he was leaving with "my" car that he was going to paint it black) and buy my new car

It was alot of fun doing the conversion, but it wasn't that practical looking back on it... oh, and I still have lots or parts from a 94 black formula for sale BTW (hood, wheels, hatch, cloth seats and more 4 CHEAP)

How much did you sell it for?
Mine is red too. I hope that I can find mostly red parts.
I want the polished aluminum WS6 17 inch wheels. I think they look better than the chrome ones. I saw a set of 4 on ebay go for $400. Damn, I missed it though. My last TA I had, a '93, I put 16`s the chrome rims on it and it looked good, infact a lot better than the crappy looking stock '93 rims, but I wish I had put 17`s on it.
Does anyone know, do the 98+ foglamps fit on the 93-97?

you use your car to get women? poor kid.

I say kid because I see you believe a Ram Air LT1 is faster than an LS1... lmao.

but yes, I'm very pissed I have a Trans Am of the last year they will ever make them... I'm also PISSED it only has 22K miles on it and an LS1.

idiot.

lmao use may car to get women! It was an analogy dude! I was just messin` with you so chill. Thats the difference between uptite conservative people and people who are daring and open minded, liberal.
I`ll never joke with you again. I never wanted to upset you, just make you laugh. Atleast I`m not some idiot with a ford Mustang trying to say I could take your WS6. Thats got to be the most annoying thing. Every Redneck in his Ford mustang always thinks he`s the hierarchy. lol

I have a set of polished WS6 OEM wheels with centers and lugs sitting in the garage now in good shape. Was getting ready to ebay em... PM me if you want to make an offer before I get ready to auction.

Here are pics of them on the car before I replaced them:

Default My WS6 Conversion

So far I`ve got a front bumper, front support, bumper absorber, fog lights, and a driver side fender. Got it all for just about $380. Is that a good deal?
Now I need a passenger fender and both headlight assemblies, and of course a WS6 or WS9 Ram Air Hood which will probably come last, because I want to take my time and find a descent deal. Or, instead of buying OEM headlight assemblies, I wonder if I could just get the clear plastics lids that they use on non-flip up lights. Its a mod I`ve seen that looks cool. I wouldn`t need headlights, just the clear covers. I think I can mount my headlights I already have underneath clear lids, might take a little bit of ingenuity, but it would be really cool. Anyone have any idea where I could get my hands on some clear headlight lids for 98-02 Trans Am??? Just the clear lids.

Default Does anyone know?

If I put the 98+ fenders and front clip on my 96 TA can I leave my 96 hood and headlights on until I get the new ones? Will it still fit? I know there will be hellacious gaps, but I just want to do it for the time being just to have something to cover the engine.
Anyone know?

I wouldn't do this. The money spent could be saved toward buying an 98+ model.

Don't get me wrong. You can fix up an 97- car... wheels, tires, hoods, ect.... but to do a whole front end conversion just seems like a lot.

Maybe you are right!!! I guess if you have $2,000 or there about, and the car is in good shape of repair otherwise.... it makes sinse.

Also, there would be a lot of logic in doing this after a frountal collision!!!!!(God Forbid)
