Default Side moldings are overrated

Today I finally decided to remove my moldings. The driver side was cake, but the passenger side was a pain in the ***. I actually was gonna ask what you guys suggest. You can still see "Trans Am", but the outline isn't adhesive...it's all smoothe.

Looks good. I don't understand why GM put it on in the first place.
That was one of the first things I did when I got my car.
I just took the molding of my 94 Silverado, that was a PITA.

the reason they were put on there in the first place was to save your doors from door dings, but it only works if the door meets your molding first... with the boom in pickups and SUVs they are useless anymore. Your car looks great without them, and pretty much try what everyone else above said and you should be able to get rid of the outline. Those are the two reasons why I haven't removed my door moldings: 1) I know they're protecting me from SOME of the door dings, i've seen the molding in action against rude people in the parking lot that park by my car even tho I park 5 spaces away, and 2) because I painted my door moldings a couple years ago because they were bleaching out and turning white, so I know when I remove them it's going to have a noticable outline from where I had taped off behind the molding.

That's a unique look. Not sure yet how I feel about it thought. I too have rude co-workers that don't seem to mind using your car to stop their door from swinging wide open.

I like the look. That's why I did mine. Oh and I used a scratch out wax and it worked great. There's no marks at all...

I like that smooth look w/o the molding alot! I plan on doing that to my car when I get it repainted. A molding mounted that low doesn't really stop much. All of my door dings I have ever gotten have been up towards the door handle. Actually, on my Firebird, I've got more dings on the quarters because theyre metal unlike the doors.

I used a hair dryer to heat the molding up (cheap heat gun, but it worked), then it pulled off very easily. then rubbed the double sided tape off with my thumb (=blister from hell the next day)
then clay, and then buffed with IP and FP to get the shine going again (need it anywas)

I still have the trans am on mine, but it will soon come off b/c its such a PITA to clean between the lettering.

and
setxws6 what drop is that?
