Making your own switch panel? I've seen the switch panels from Jimmy jams and whatnot, but I'm looking to make my own. I want to do this tonight so I can't really wait on an ordered one. lol Anyway, I like the textured plastic look more than the sheet aluminum most folks have used. So does anyone know of someplace that would have a ready supply of black ABS plastic? I've given consideration to cutting up a project box from radio shack and using it. However, I think it may be too thin. I'm open to all suggestions for sources. It doesn't have to be in sheets. If I can find a product that has a big enough piece of plastic in it, I'll buy it and chop it up. I don't care. So if you know of a place or product, post up!

Well here's what I did for a similar thing, needed a panel for an LED display + a couple *****, goes where the cig lighter used to be. Got a piece of thin wood (yes, wood), cut to shape and cut out/drilled holes for ***** etc. Then at Target found this notebook that had a thin flexible plastic cover that was exactly the same color/texture as the dash plastic. Glued a piece of this plastic to the front of the wood panel. You can't tell the diff from the factory plastic. Also very easy to work the wood. Just pure chance that the plastic they use on those cheapo little notebook/calendar things is the same as what GM used.
we have tap plastics around here where i can get just about any kind of plastic, textured in a variety of colors and they can cut to your exact dimensions or cut yourself, see if you have any place like that where you live.. good luck
