Default Floor mats and accelerator

Do floormats take away from how far you can press the accelerator down? I think it must just because it looks as if it would. i know this was posted a month or two ago but i searched and cannot find. Help would be appreciated!

I've never thought about this in all honesty. But I've heard they're coming out with a new mod to prevent it. It's called the !floormat mod. I'll be first in line to try it out...maybe I'll pick a few tenths at the track.

I've got a foot print gas pedal that I put on every once in a while. And no, I'm not kidding. I guess you would just have to meet me and understand my personality! I only have it on for maybe 1-2 days out of the month, but it dosen't make any problems for me.

If you've got **** carpet floormats, then you might run into a problem with gas pedal clearance.

Well in my other post I was being a tid bit sarcastic...yeeaaaahh....but you're serious. Mmmm...ok. Well if you want a serious answer from me...then no. I don't be believe it possible for your floor mat to hinder full acceleration. If you're worried about this look into the bump-stop mod which will help you out much further than removing a floor mat ever will.

It shouldn't really keep the gas pedal from going all the way down. However, a few of us have had our gas pedals stick because the mat ended up on top of the pedal (how it worked up ontop of the pedal is beyond me). I just cut a square out of the top corner of the mat where the pedal depresses. Problem solved.

to really check, rub some chalk on the bottom of the pedal and press it as far as u can. then check on the mat to see how much chalk is on it

It can. I take out my floor mats every time I race or dyno. I have also seen a gas petal get stuck under the floor mat and stay down.

I take mine out every time I race. Before you grind on the bumpstop you need to check the TPS voltage. Otherwise if you grind too much it will set the check engine light.
