i have the meguiars rich leather cleaner. I just put it on a cloth towel and rub it in,right? i tried using it and i wasnt sure if i was doing it right???i used their leather wipes, which worked very well. However, the shine doesnt last long and im not sure that the wipes do the best job of protecting the leather. Any other thoughts on this? i'm not an expert when it comes to cleaning leather. TIA

Another vote for Mequires!
Natural Shine is t3h shyt! No shiney greasy look.
I also use a Turtle wax dash sponge to get rid of dust. It doesnt use any liquids or sprays, you just wipe it down and ta-da... no more dust.
Microfiber towels all the way. No lint or extra dust.

Take it to the next level. The best on the planet is Leatherique. Takes our OEM **** leather and turns it into supple soft flexible material. Not for the faint of heart or tight wallets.
Leatherique Rejuvinator Oil
You apply the Rejuvinator Oil first and let it set. Best way is to apply and cover the seats with a garbage bag in the sun for the day. You wil see all the nasty **** raised out of the leather most of which is dirt and leaves a white film.
You then use the Prestine Clean to clean all the toxins off.

No idea why everyone's hating on armor all. It's the only thing that keeps my weatherstripping pliable and black. Hasn't dried it out at all. Yeah, don't use it on your dash if there's a glare problem, but I found no matter what I used on my dash there was a major glare problem so I got a dash cover (which I surprisingly don't think looks bad).
My recommendations:
Armor All Wipes
Meguiar's Leather Wipes (Lexol is great stuff, but I'm tiring of its hassle)
Use a real vacuum to clean out the car, all portable ones suck (I've got a crappy Shark)
Tuff Stuff to get stains out of the carpet
Invisible Glass or Armor All Glass Wipes for the windows (Ammonia Free)
The wipes rule, because you don't have to keep track of which towels you use for which products.

I use soapy warm water to wipe everything down with a 100% white cotton towel, for the leather I use Meguiar's leather cleaner + conditioner with aloe. Works great for me and looks very nice.

I just put a small amount onto a 100% white cotton towel, microfiber is good to, and just apply to the seats thouroughly until the whole seat is done then use a separate towel to wipe off excess. I have been doing this for years to my 94 and they looked great.
