believe me the red will get old really quick, the dark black look is way better and contrasts to the darker black interior really well.

I looked at your cardomain and I'm thinking maybe you just went overboard with the red? I was just thinking a few accents like the bezel over the head unit, and the covers for the speakers to start...

Why do you say you got sick of it ?

I did mine a flake silver last night and I think it looks great. I had 2 people say something about it at work and I didnt ask them, they saw it when the parked next to my car and liked it.

I MAY get a little bit of a darker color, it is pretty light, or I may just mist a darker color (black maybe) over it to darken it some. But I think it looks neat. I haven't done the cup holder part of the console yet, and I may not because I plan on one day making a fiberglass replacement for that part with no cup holder or ashtray/change tray. We'll see.

I'll try to post some pictures of what I've done to it tonight or tomorrow

you have to wet sand it and put primer over the top of what you sanded, the only purpose of sanding is to make it look smooth. but if you want it to be the bumpy texture just clean the peice and spray even coats and let them sit and your done.

I did this a while back and I'll tell you the results...

Prepped and painted it with red to match the car. I liked it. Decided to do a little more. Ended up screwing up the piece that goes over the gauges and had to paint the whole thing red. In the weeks after it got old FAST. I got so sick of it I priced out new parts but they were ridiculous, so I sanded the pieces down again and this time painted them a gloss black, and I also replaced the piece over the gauges. This stayed in the car a long time and I even got quite a few compliments on it, but it really didn't go with the car (if the car was black it would have worked out well) so I eventually just spent the money (and a good bit too) to get replacement parts and go back to stock. I spent alot of money and time to end up back at stock. If you're going to do it, do a silver look like Firechicken or do a gloss black look. Anything else will get old fast IMO, especially brighter colors.

I have a midnight blue 99' WS6 and was considering doing my interior accents also in Midnight Blue. It a dark color, almost black, but in certain light u can definetly tell its not black. I think it will look sweet. It not gonna be too colorful & not completely black, but unique.

I thought about doing mine blue to match my steering wheel cover and to complement the Autometer C2s and blue footwell and vent lights. After seeing this, I think I could get tired of it after a while. I may just to silver now to match the exterior decals.

It depends on you, not what other's say. I painted my red accents last summer, and I absolutely love it. The only thing that got old was the red console lid because my elbow leaning against it put two ugly spots in it where the paint's all weird... otherwise I absolutely love my interior regardless of how gawdy some people think it is.
