Default Violated!

I was at a friends house in a suburb outside of Houston Saturday night from about 12:30am to 3:30am after I said goodnight to my friend I walked to my car and what did I find? Egg. Needless to say I wasnt too happy about this but I figured it would be okay since I would wash it off as soon as I got home to a hose. 30 minutes later what I thought was a piece of shell that had cemented itself to my roof turned out to be one of several place where the egg had eaten through the clearcoat. Now I am usually a pretty stable guy, but when you figuratively "cut my car, I bleed" so I broke down and cried for a few minutes about what had happened to my baby. To wrap this story up does any one know of or have any suggestions as to the best way to fix this? They are just small holes in the clearcoat in a perfect "egg splatter pattern" even if it just distorts the egg image so that I dont think about it constantly I would be happy. Thanks for letting me vent.

Man, There was a very scientific study performed last year on different people from all over the world. After watching people in there day to day lives, the final conclusion was that. PEOPLE ARE STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't blame you for crying, I would probably still be crying. To answer your question though, it's hard to say without seeing the damage, but IF the clear coat is completely gone in those areas, you will never get it perfect. You can try some products like Meguiars ScratchX and it MIGHT take off the edges alittle bit. You could also take it to a detail or body shop and see what they can do with it, may be able to wet sand and buff. Of course you probably realize the only way to totally fix it is to repaint. A moment of silence for the vandalized f-bod please.

That sucks, I just had mine broken into a couple weeks ago, they screwed all the fiberglass and paint up. If the damage is just to the clear coat I would wet sand the spots and try to spot spray with a new coat of clear.
