Default How do you remove a console in a '00 SS?

I'm hooking up an iPod to my stereo and I want to put it in the storage compartment under the armrest. Does anyone know where I can find the procedure for removing my console?

The front top part of the console (cup holder and shift surround) is held on by two screws under the change holder in the storage compartment.

Not sure about the whole console.

Once you remove the top part of the console, you should be able to get to the rest of the bolts holding the console into place...from my parts manual, it looks like two bolts in the rear, one (maybe two, can't tell) in the middle, and two bolts at the front (these are on the outside, under the dash...they should be visible from the sides).

First you have to remove your shift ****. An auto shift **** has a small clip on the front that faces towards the radio. Pull the clip out, and the **** pops right off. Then remove the bolts for the cup holder/shifter cover part. Pop that up and out of the way. Then yank the parking brake handle up until you are blue in the face. You want to yank that thing so far up that you'd think you'll break it. Then undo the bolts for the console and wiggle that sucker out.

Remove the center piece (where the shifter comes through) by removing 2 screws holding it to the inside of the console. These screws will be in the front section of the inside of the console. Then, remove the screws holding the front of the console to the dash area. There are also a couple of screws inside the console. They are screwe into the base, so you may have to unclutter what you have inside of it. Then, just pull it out.
