Cleaning inside of the headlights

My 98 Z-28 is in pristine condition, looks brand new on the outside except one thing - the inside of the headlights look foggy almost like condensation has settled in there and clouded them up. I'd like to take the assembly off and clean it out, does anyone know the steps to do that? I played around with it for a while but didn't bother going too far for fear of messing something up. Is that stuff easy to get off and is there a cleaner of some sort that can do a good job with it? Just wondering - thanx for the help.

Opps, actually yeah the sanding advise is great - but I actually need to know how to take the damn things off, LOL, as stupid as that may make me seem.

Get you a heat gun, or use your oven. Heat them up pretty good. Then were the lense is attached to the head light, gently pry them apart with a flathead screwdriver or something. If you use the oven make sure you dont leave them in there long. But you want them in there long enough to make the glue soft. I used the heat gun method, I wasnt all for the whole oven plan.
