using older tailights?

using older tailights? I like the 93-96 tailights way better than the 97-02 ( cant stand the amber)
I have a 2001 camaro. If I picked up some 96 tailights, would they work in my car? Or would they not fit/work right?
Has anyone done this? (I searched couldnt find anything)

Yes, it will work. Some people do it for the same reason as you: They simply like the red/white better than the orange. I think there's some wiring involved, but it's not too bad.
I think that ZULater02 and RuSSh over at LS2.com have done it. Not sure if RuSSh is a member here. You might try looking up some of their posts and seeing if they have anything about it. Or search around for "93-96 taillights" posts.

i got em on my 02 z. pm me and ill run u thru what u have to do. u will have to shave off the edges of the bulb holders to fit in the holes of the 93-96 taillights. its pretty easy. other than that, its pretty much plug and play. the brake lights will only shine on part of the taillight unless u wanna rewire...but its really not that big a deal.

I have them on my "98 and done it for the same reason. I did'nt have to do anything, pushed the bulbs in the holes (they were alittle tight, but fit without doing any mods) and that was it. Here's a pic of them in it now. I really like the way it cleaned up the back of the car.
