paint coat question
I just got my car recently and it has several spots where it needs a new clear coat (just the clear coat bubbled up and peeled). I was going to pick up some and do it myself to save $$$, but my question is should I be really careful that only the sections that need it get painted or does it not really matter?
Basically if some new clear paint overlaps some small sections that are currently good, will those look different or will it be the same once it dries?
I was going to limit it as best as possible anyway to just the sections that need it but I wasn't sure if I messed up the border a bit if that would be distinguishable (so basically one small part that might have two clear coats).
Do you know of any reason why it would need to be done that way (the whole panel vs. just a small a part). The thing is, I think pretty much every panel has at least one or two small spots that need a touchup, so I would basically have to do the entire car if I did it like that.

That's why I leave it to the professionals

They would probably have even more information for you and be able to tell you the best way to go about fixing your issues.
