Mothers Clay Question
Mothers Clay Question Just got the Mothers California Gold Claybar and I'm reading the directions, it says to use the mothers cleaner wax that came with it after using the clay. I was planning on using Zaino Z2 Pro when I was finished, should I not put the Mothers wax on or is it something I need to put on and then the Zaino on top of it?
I'm not sure if I totally follow your question, but it's not necessary to use the Mother's wax...IMO, clay is clay...you can follow up with any product you'd like. I'm not familiar with Z2, is it a polish? For best results, you should follow up the clay with a polish to remove and/or hide swirls and enhance the gloss and appearance and top off with a sealant...
Like theses guys already said, it is not necessary to use the mothers polish before you zaino. If you have any noticable swirls or paint flaws, you may first want to use a more abrasive polish, such as Menzerna IP or Zaino ZPC. Both of these products will completely remove most scratches in the clear coat (granted you are using a Porter Cable with the appropriate pad). After you have the finish just as you want it, then apply the wax or Z2 (which is a sealant, no abrasives but has some fillers).

Cool thanks guys, I am gonna do it by hand and I do have some swirls and defect but I don't have anything other then the clay and Z2 right now so I'll have to see how this comes out.
