Default Paint Question

I just had my car completely repainted due to the fact that the landscaping crew at my work blew fertilizer all over the car and destroyed the clear coat. I picked the car up and the car looked good except for 2 places. First the bumper lines did not match as well as I would like but the shop said it is plastic and has slots it fits into so there wasn't any type of adjustment that could be made. Second the middle strip in between the t-tops was not painted and this the shop said was due to the fact that it was a piece of plastic epoxyed in and they could not paint it. It had paint on it before so obviously there is a way to paint it. Has anyone had any experience with these two issues? I need some technical ammo to go back to this shop with.

Thanks.

if this was done by insureance, then bring it up with them, they will make the painter fix the problems...
the bumper matches the hood from the factory, there is no reason they should not be able to do the same...
