I am by no means an expert in the art of photography. I have been shooting for about 5 years, and have had many pictures published...but by no means a pro or expert. I shoot with a Nikon D100, and many filters and lenses. Many of the pictures i have posted on here are mearly (sp?) snap-shots to get the whatever point across i was trying to make... The calendar was good, i just thought it would have been better what with all the hipe about it. I think your shot from PHR was a better shot than any of the photograps in the calendar. That photo screams profesionalism, and does wonders when contrasting colors from the dress into the car, and the way the camera angle captures it is a truly professional shot.

I understand what you are saying.... but again, we want to get the member involved. I don't think it would be the same if we hired a photographer and a bunch of models to do a calendar. That would take the "individual" effort out of the calendar and make it just like everything else. I think all the hype comes from the fact that we took regular people with cars that they built and put together what I consider a professional calendar. Some of the pictures may not be 100% clear because they are not using $1,000+ dollar cameras. Most of these people are not using filters and so forth. Most of these people do not have experience with taking photographs. The majority of these girls have absolutely no modeling experience. With that in mind, and the fact that this calendar looks better than 90% of the ones that I have seen on the stands, I think they all did one hell of a job! I am truely sorry that you were disappointed. I will keep your opinions in mind and work to better next year's calendar even more.

Zangel...i really think you have gotten the wrong impression from my comments. I think for what the calendar is, an amature "photo session," it is great. I was under the impression that the calendar was shot by a professional photographer. I believe that is why i was "dissapointed" when opening it. I was not aware that the calendar was shot by the people who own these cars...for that i tip my hat, because they did a good job. I apoligze if you thought my comments were an attack against your hard work...i never intended for them to come across that way. Like i said, i think i was under the wrong impression when looking at the calendar. I commend your efforts for producing something so obviously timely, and something that is clearly a hit to my fellow LS1Tech brothers (and sisters). Your calendar is obvioulsy a huge hit here, and i will be in line with the rest of these gear-heads to buy next year's calendar.

...you had asked for some samples...here are a few that have been published in various magazines...(these were shot with a Nikon N80 35mm)

(I am by no means trying to "brag" or show-off any of my work, just showing you some examples of my hobby )

SLPHawk, I think you are being too critical. Its a car/girl calendar, not a professional portfolio. Compared with the majority of other car/girl calendars, this one is easily just as good or better than the rest out there. Not sure why your expectations were so high, sorry to disappoint you.

Got mine too. I like the selections. I was curious if any 05' calendars were floating around that I could maybe order as a keepsake, that was the first calendar year right?

Wish I could say that we had some extra 05 calendars, but we sold out pretty fast. We only order a limited amount of calendars each year and they seem to go quick!

Just recieved mine today, YEA BABY!!!, now we're talkin'! A most excellent means by which to keep track of the daily passage of time! I tried to convince my wife that it NEEDS to be on the side of the fridge in the kitchen, it'll help me decide what new wheels to get but............................I guess it's in a better place where I can drool..........er, I mean, what I said above about keeping track of time passage, at work

Great job! Congrats to those who made this work of automotive art!
