One or two solid layers. For reference, mine has somewhere between 5-6.

ok maybe i wont be so scared to get some now, i just didnt want to get one coat on and have start out too dark. Its good to know it does gradually darken as the layers add up.

You can remove the nite shades with fingernail polish if you need to. Just make sure you don't clear coat until u're satisfied.

Yeah, and start with light coats, the more coats you do the darker it gets.

http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...tegoryId=19051

That's at Jegs.

That's at After Thoughts Auto. They are an LS1tech sponsor, so I say go from them.

It's good stuff, I haven't done mine yet though. I'll probably have my buddy at the body shop do it for me. Then buff it all so it looks factory.

One... I painted my taillights, rear reflectors, and turn signals and still had a little left over, and you can see how dark I went.

I had used VHT on my S10 parking lights on a couple different trucks I had. Worked pretty well and I didn't do any prep other than washing them. I bought a 2nd set of lights for my Camaro and mixed real base/clear auto paint. I mixed stock onyx black with clear coat and sprayed them. I think I have about 4 or 5 coats on them and they are tinted but not black. It depends on the light as to how dark they look. When lit up you can't even tell they're tinted. I just need to wetsand a couple small runs along the edge and buff them so they'll look perfect.

You can also find Nightshades in a few places on eBay, though it's only about $2 cheaper than the above sponsors (when you factor in shipping). I will be ordering some soon. Now that I have installed my taillights blackouts, I really want to blackout all the lights.

Would VHT Nightshades be suitable for the Fog Lights as well? I was going to get covers, but I've heard that they warp easily and would rather just "paint" them if I could.

Wouldn't see why not. It's paint, really, if you can paint something you can use VHT nightshades on it.
