Default Paint CODE Incorrect

I did a search and found 3 articles dating to a year ago. I have purchased a new front bumper and am having it repainted. THe issue is that I have a 99 Silver Z28 with paint code BC/CC U9966. The issue is that 9966 does not exist with GM or any body shop. Some people have said that it is suppose to be 9566, which is Silver. The body shop is painting it out of town and shipping it to me, thats why they cannot custom match it unless I provide them with a peice of my car's paint. Anyone have this issue or know the answer. Is 9566 the same as 9966??

Can tell you this, head down to your local auto paint supply shop with your gas filler door, and they should be able to match it up, and confirm the correct number. Be it a 9966 or 9566. They should have some GM paint chips-samples to compare it to.

It is 13/WA9566 for Sebring Silver. I've probably bought more than a gallon of it in the past year for doing fuel rail covers. Do NOT give the paint shop just 13U. They will probably have a million different colors listed under that. You need the extended code which is WA9566.
