Default *UPDATE PICS*help: how to remove cubbyhole next to cig light on a4

I'm planning to do something that I don't think has ever been done before, but I need to know how to get this little box out. I think there is just 2 little clips on the top of hte box that need to be pressed in and hten I can pull it out, but I don't want to break one of those plastic pieces off. I can hopefully have pics up tonight if I get a reply quick enough.

there is a metal clip i think on the top and a plastic lip on the bottom or vice versia but if you do break it you can always super glue it back on. you have to be very careful though!! good luck and what are you planning on doing?

Thanks Black98, I plan on having some fun with the red and white led's that i just got tonight. I'll post as soon as I get it all set up, and pictures taken.

Anyone with pictures or more specific directions of removing the cubbyhole let me know.

Use your fingernails and pull at it lightly under the lip so it pops out slightly. Apply pressure to the top side and firmly pull, it will dislodge the clips freeing the cell phone pocket. What are doing with the leds? Here is what I did with mine.

SWEET LORD!!! well I have been trying to get that freaking little pocket out since hte last time I posted. That was insanely hard. I maybe a mistake of pulling on hte box first, which deformed the clips. Bad move. I finally ended up lying on my back by hte pedals and using a flathead to pry the metal clips out. After getting the box out I let out a rather satisfying yell. Ok it should be smooth sailing from here. What I am doing is purely appearance, and is a pretty simple concept. back to work.

Thanks for the help guys, had a few set backs tonight so no pics. I dropped the cubbyhole on the ground after I got it out and chipped one of the corners off so I have to let the glue sit over night. I will slide everything in tomorrow and hook up all the wires. Pictures tomorrow night.

heres one pic though

the pictures aren't very good at all, but it looks real clean. and I know my floors are dirty, but I am just glad to be done so those will have to wait. It really looks pretty good in real life. The picture isn't all blown out like it is in the pictures. You can see the details of the picture much better in person.
