98-02 dead pedal

Is there a difference between the dead pedals from a auto and a manual tranny on the 98-02 F-body?

I always thought that it was that plastic foot rest thing to the very left? At least I think so..

I have heard them called both, dead pedal or foot rest.

I went to the Chevy dealer in town to see if I could buy one and they looked at me as if I was speaking a foreign language. They said they had never heard of such a thing. We looked all through the interior parts and nothing showed up. I have since found out that they are attached to the kick panel.
