It's for adapting any shifter handle to the A4. The difference between the
corvette C5 adaptor and the F body one is the length of the adaptor.
If you buy a ball with a 'tail' it will cover the F body adaptor.

I'd like to know that too, I doubt it though. I also hate the button top ****, I may have to swap it for a T-handle like my 92 T/A even if it looks a little out of place.

Man, betcha that aluminum shift ball will feel real nice after your car sits in the sun for a few hours...'specially in the summer.

If you got an auto it's not a big deal. Try having a black 6 speed car with a black **** and T tops. OUCH!!! I'm suprised I don't have SS burned into my palm!

i have a b&m megashifter in my 91 and its black, it can get pretty hot

i have an A4 MBA shift **** and have had no problem with it getting hot in the summer(w/ttops)....i also added an M6 boot to mine to make it look better. O and i got it from Thunder.
