Default How Much For Tinting Windows?

The car was tinted up all the way around except the front, i'm guess 5%. but then got pulled over and had to take it off. It's been a year now and I plan on getting the sides back on as I didn't have to take the hatch tint off. So how much you guys think it will cost?

if its just the side windows you might want to take a shot at taking the tint off yourself and then get them retinted by a pro

this might help

I paid $120 for mine.. 20% sides, and 5% hatch.. So you'll probably pay around $80 for the sides, I think.

it's not like installers went to school and have a degree for it...They didn't know how to do it the first time either...All it takes is patience, i know the car isn't easy...But why not give it a shot?

You could give it a shot, but you'll probably F-up a few times. Just pay someone and get it done right the first time. Or go to a window tinting place and talk to one of the workers and tell him you want to be friends. Take him out for a few drinks, then a few days later he might be able to give you a hook-up!! Knowing people is the best way to get things done cheaper!!

Just the two side windows should be about $50-$80. Go 5% since 20% is also illegal, but doesn't look as good.

I'm getting mine done at 9:00 AM today for $120.

20% all around with a 5% strip across the top of the windshield.

This is with stripping the side windows too. They look awful.

They're 35% right now, with scratches and nicks all over them. They were that way when I bought the car.

I paid $150 for a mobile tinting guy to come to my house and remove the old tint, do the side windows 20%, windshield strip of 5%, and the entire hatch glass in 5%, and black vinyl over the dotted area on the top of the hatch glass. Tipped him $10, so call it $160. Oh, BTW, don't try to take the old tint off yourself, it's hard as hell, and you need the right tools and technique to do it right. It took me about 3 hours to get all of the tint off the driver's side door, and I gave up on doing the rest of the glass. The tint guy removed the tint off of the back glass and the side window after 20 minutes.

For just the side windows I'd expect $60-$80. The hatch is the real pain on our cars.

I'd recommend going to a dedicated tint shop that offers a lifetime warranty. For something that is so cheap - there are too many things that can be wrong or half-assed to take the risk of saving a few bucks.

Just my $0.02 but a hair, a bubble, or a bad edge trim just drives me crazy with tint. I'd rather spend the money and have it done right.

I had my first '93 done at 20/5 for $125 bucks and when I sold it 10 years later, the tint was still flawless.
