Default Got the Export Tails on

Box arrived from Japan yesterday morning.
A razor blade, a little tape, some elbow grease, and 30 minutes later....

I'm a happy camper!

I am guessing you had to do some re-wiring since you mentioned the razor blade and tape?

How much where they? They do look good!

I think he meant the razor and tape was used to open the box. I hope for his own good he didn't use those for electrical wiring.

Actually the razor blade was used to trim down the tabs on the light sockets.
Since the export lenses are made for 93-96 cars, some slight modification is required to fit them on 97-up cars.
Also, 97-up cars have a 194 blub marking light, and 93-96s do not, so that bulb is dangling behind the lense out of view. I suppose it could be removed, but for ease of later reversing this mod, I left it there.
Tape was used just for labels so I wouldn't forget which bulb is which... the back-up light sockets are conveniently white, but all the others are grey.

I got the pair for $340 plus shipping from, yes you guessed it, EBAY!

Thanks for the compliments everyone!

Looks pretty good, ..., I like the way they follow the lines of the trunk better that the stock US OE taillights do.

Now we need a better photo from a little further back!

I could not agree more.

Yeah definitely. Once it comes out of the garage for World of Wheels, there will be lots more pictures!

Ok I'll keep my Louisville Slugger handy.

Indeed I do. I think yhey're better. More comfortable, and better lateral support, and lumbar adjustment!
I'm itching to get them recovered and get the headrests embroidered!
