Question Engine Colors/Detailing Something Different...Input wanted

Looking for some input on my motor color and other details:Here's what I have and what I have decided to go with: 72 NOVA Gold in Color with Black Cowl Hood.
I am going with a ZZ4 350 and 700R4 Trans. the motor comes in Black but I want something different and am not sure I want the same old Chevy Orange.
I have seen some Gold engines and am not to wild about that!.

I have the engine bay done in basic semi gloss black everything except the new Master Cyl.which I want to leave alone or paint a pot metal grey.
I would like to do something different but not sure what?
Any suggestions or pic's of something that's different but still looks clean and detailed.
Here's my idea: I was considering a Industrial Grey Color with Hedman Aluma Coat Ceramic Hedders and a nice set of Black Cast Chevy Valve Covers, stock finish on the intake and a demon Carb.

Looking for feedback and suggestions and other little tricks that may make my Nova look a little different.
Any suggestions or Pics?

Thanx,NOVA

Thanks bro!

I wish you could see it person, with all the reflective angles if you move around a bit, it "shimmers."

Here's my take based on the colors of the car:
Leave the block gloss black- when it gets a bit dirty from driving and usage it'll still look black instead of having dirt on whatever color. Keep the block black.
Paint some of the accesories the same gold (or as close as you can get with heat resistant paint)

Black block with gold water pump, intake, valvecovers, You'll have coated headers... so to even out some shine you'll have a polished air filter top, polished alternator, and have some of the fasteners (bolts) polished... like the bolts that hold down the gold valve covers and waterpump bolts.

I can picture that... clean and matches with the car and looks balanced when you pop the hood.

I would leave it black. I don't know of another color that would look good with the gold of the car.. I agree with the gold color for the motor, just wouldn't look right.

My experience with powder coating is that it never comes out the way you expect. The color isn't as glossy sometimes and it's hard to color match. They wont match the color of the paint. Get the polished March stuff, paint all the other stuff with the EXACT color you want,

If you don't want to pay for the polished pulley stuff (I'd get them polished) have them send it raw and paint/clearcoat the pulies and brackets the same shade as the rest of the other painted parts.

The devil is in the details.

This guy does custom true flames for very good prices. His name on the board is stryker14. See if he can do the air cleaner, valve covers, so on. Just an idea.

Firehawk..that engine is freakin incredible!!! But, powder coating would definitely be easier to maintain than all that polishing and much stronger than typical liquid paints. If you get all you engine parts done at the same time having them match should not be a problem for a good powder coater. Now I will agree that if you get two pieces done a year apart you have more of a chance of there being a color difference...but then again, that holds true with most all finishes doesn't it?

Check out these few examples of multiple engine parts done at the same time. The colors were perfect! ...lol...of course I would say that though huh? LOL!!

Instead of gold paint, why not use the real thing?:

I think the most fun part about doing something like this would be seeing the reactions on people's faces when you tell them you dropped $5k on engine bay "enhancements." Nobody'll ever know.

Morris, those pc pieces do look blingish! I guess I'm just recalling the stuff on people's cars at the track that seem a bit half baked.
My polish work actually looks the same as it did 7 months ago! I haven't touched it and it hasn't oxidized AT ALL! It's never driven in the rain so grime water isn't baked on. I'm happy!
Fury, I remember the coating you were talking about, those vc's are pretty pimpish ...cool. How's the small-block coming along?
