Engine Colors/Detailing Something Different...Input wanted
I am going with a ZZ4 350 and 700R4 Trans. the motor comes in Black but I want something different and am not sure I want the same old Chevy Orange.
I have seen some Gold engines and am not to wild about that!.
I have the engine bay done in basic semi gloss black everything except the new Master Cyl.which I want to leave alone or paint a pot metal grey.
I would like to do something different but not sure what?
Any suggestions or pic's of something that's different but still looks clean and detailed.
Here's my idea: I was considering a Industrial Grey Color with Hedman Aluma Coat Ceramic Hedders and a nice set of Black Cast Chevy Valve Covers, stock finish on the intake and a demon Carb.
Looking for feedback and suggestions and other little tricks that may make my Nova look a little different.
Any suggestions or Pics?
Thanx,NOVA
I worship his engine... i think i dreamed about it few nights ago
I wish you could see it person, with all the reflective angles if you move around a bit, it "shimmers."

Leave the block gloss black- when it gets a bit dirty from driving and usage it'll still look black instead of having dirt on whatever color. Keep the block black.
Paint some of the accesories the same gold (or as close as you can get with heat resistant paint)
Black block with gold water pump, intake, valvecovers, You'll have coated headers... so to even out some shine you'll have a polished air filter top, polished alternator, and have some of the fasteners (bolts) polished... like the bolts that hold down the gold valve covers and waterpump bolts.
I can picture that... clean and matches with the car and looks balanced when you pop the hood.

Thanx for the input.
If you don't want to pay for the polished pulley stuff (I'd get them polished) have them send it raw and paint/clearcoat the pulies and brackets the same shade as the rest of the other painted parts.
The devil is in the details.
Check out these few examples of multiple engine parts done at the same time. The colors were perfect!
...lol...of course I would say that though huh? LOL!!

I think the most fun part about doing something like this would be seeing the reactions on people's faces when you tell them you dropped $5k on engine bay "enhancements."
Nobody'll ever know.
My polish work actually looks the same as it did 7 months ago! I haven't touched it and it hasn't oxidized AT ALL!
Fury, I remember the coating you were talking about, those vc's are pretty pimpish
...cool. How's the small-block coming along? http://www.alsacorp.com/products/cle...h_prodinfo.htm
