ARGH!! shiftknob stuck!

ARGH!! shiftknob stuck! I don't have my digi cam to show but my shift **** is half off and its stuck on tighter then god knows anything.
I had some crap ricer thing from when i got the car and am trying to install a nice new one.
I know its counter clock wise to get off but i've been using a big *** wrench and its baerly moving at all any ideas what to do?
The **** is facing nearly backwards ive been fighting to get it to move that much for over an hour its REALLY stuck on.

heh got it
took a while just had to keep fighting.
I hate to sound so silly but really car feels 100x better to shift the gears just go like silk!
I think that shows HOW BAD a shift **** can make a car when a nice one makes you just wanta row the gears and that I did.
if a mod could please retire this for me
