Slp Hood And Box

HELP?????? Please I posted a question about buying a SS hood the other day but didnt get much response. 
Those who replied told me to go for an oem hood. I found and SLP OEM hood and box for $1300 ready to prime and paint. There is a couple of hoods from sponsors asking $600 for a hood thats not oem. Is the SLP worth it? Will someone who's put a ss hood on a Z-28 give me some idea of what they had to do if it wasnt a oem hood. My next question; I remember reading some where that the ss box with a k&N have a leak problem. I already have a good cold air intake, is it worth the $300 to make the ss hood functional. Thanks alot guys!!

many of the hoods I've seen are very good quality, such as american sports car designs, vfn fiberglass, and glasstek. All are about $600 and great quality. IMO, its not worth the $1300 just to get an OEM hood.
