Thanks very much for all the great comments!

I *really* wanted to drive the car, but out of respect to the owner and the car, I decided it was best to leave it be. I'm getting a ride in it tomorrow, so that will be cool.

Chup - it's the discontinued polish...I'm sad now that I've used it, even though it was $65 a bottle.

YoungGunLS1 - I had the car all day long, so I took my time with it, but it took me about 5 hours total. The polishing was done with a Porter Cable 7424 and foam polishing pad...everything else was done by hand. The owner has been very good to me at his shop, so I only charged him $100. Normally it would have been a $150+ job.

Started doing it for friends and family about 3 years ago. I've been blessed to build a good reputation for myself around here with the car guys.

Thats what you have to do. People have to know how their car will be treated when its in your hands.

Great job I posted in your other post on the other board. I have detailed some high end cars and the most I will do is pull them in and out of the shop. (most of the time I don't do that) That was nice to let you take it out, but no thanks. I don't want to fix or replace someones baby.

Thanks again, guys.

I have known the owner for several years, so he trusts me completely, but I still didn't want risk the chance.

No engine pictures because the turbos are hidden underneath the fenders. It's looks like a 95% stock LS2 motor.

Luna - the camera is a Sony DSC-P200 (7.2 mp) with a tripod.

Any tips using it? Different lens? I have the short lived 150 which was replaced by the 200 because of some problem....

I do need a tri-pod, I used a garbage can one time in night mode with the timer and the pics came out pretty good

Looks great. But for $100 I hope you detailed the engine as well. I'd like to see your work under the hood

My camera has 7.1mp, and after having 7mp I'd never go lower than that. I love my Canon SD500, I just wish it had a little more manual settings. I'm considering trying trade it for the new A620 (basically the same camera but a little bigger and has more manual settings and so-forth).

2002 Trans Am - the only real tips I have are to shoot in lots of different lighting and lots of different angles. Take the same pictures with and without using the flash. Practice, practice, practice

ChevyChad - $100 was a *very* good deal for a detail like this. I wiped down the engine bay and waxed the painted surfaces, but the engine and everything else is brand new, so it wasn't dirty.
