looks great. so you wet sanded with 400 then moved to 1000 grit? what did you do to let it dry? leave it in the garage? I only have a car port temporarily so dust and bugs get all over my car outside.

I just sanded with a 400 grit to get the clear off, after i put the primer i used 1000 grit, and i painted it and let it dry inside my garage, i just covered everything really good.
The 1000 grit sandpaper is suppose to remove any kind of dirt, bugs anything small like that so you will be fine.

I did the same thing to my T/A. It's NBM though, I used a metalic charcoal grey. It was one of the first things I did to my car.

various sandpaper $10-15
paint $5
clear (if wanted) $5
primer $4

so about $25-30 and 5-6 hours of your time if you do it right.
