Default Berger panel question

Just a quick question, if I use clear coat over the flat black, will it turn it into a semi-gloss black or will it stay the same? I just don't want it to star peeling and cracking once the summer rolls around.

Also where did you guys or gals get the emblems (berger, hurst, etc.)?

Any help is appreciated.

depends on the clear coat.
if you spray THIN coats and prep your surface properly (sand and wash with a degreasing soap) you will have no chipping

Any gloss clear is gonna make it glossy. You either want to just leave it flat black or get a flat or matte clear to clear over it if you think you need to. I had a buddy who did a Mustang with Mach 1 style flat stripes and the body shop just used single stage flat paint with no clear. As for emblems you can get Berger emblems directly from them or they might still have them listed on ebay. Same with Hurst emblems.

I'm going to finish mine up either Friday afternoon or sometime this weekend. Three day weekend. Still have to get the hurst emblem in.
