SS Hood Hey all... Before everyone gets on a rant about an SS Hood going on a Z28... I like the way that the SS Hood looks and want to get one for my Z28. Is there a place that I should go...or a place that I shouldn't buy it from?

The one that fits the best is where they came from, SLP.
I've seen alot of aftermarket ones, some fit "ok" and others like crap. Just try to find a real SLP SS hood used, or maybe if somebody has a group purchase on them.

It also depends if you want the OEM SS hood look, or if you want a hood that looks a bit more aggressive, like the Suncoast Creations hood. The scoop on that is taller and wider, especially at the rear by the windshield.

Who cares if someone wants to give you hell for putting it on a Z28. I had it, no one said a thing to me most of the time. If they did, I just pointed out the fact that it was a Z and I wasn't calling it anything different. They fully accepted it.
As for which hood to get: Look for a used GM SS hood. They're the best quality and won't give you the problems that some aftermarket hoods will. If you don't want to wait for a used one to pop up, go for ASCD. In my opinion, theirs are the best as far as aftermarket goes.
