Ah, well there you go. I was wrong.
I have the camaro sticker to put on the caliper once i get it polished, so I believe that I have to clearcoat them. Am I wrong?

If I were you I would:
1) polish
2)clearcoat
3)decal
4)re-clearcoat.

The only bad part about clearcoating... the shine will be dulled immediately after painting, plus it will dull even more over time even thought the paint protects it. The paint has pores, and oxygen will get to the metal= oxidation.

You can't hand polish unless the clear is gone. ...
I'm going to keep it naked and spend 10 minutes each every 2 months. It'll look wet and will "shadow" better. -Joshua

That is what I have heard. I'm kind of torn on whether to clearcoat them or not. I think that the stickers will look good on the polish, but I also want them to be very shiny/wet looking, and I want to be able to touch them up. Hmm....any ideas?

If you want the best look, just polish them up by hand when needed... once they are properly polished it wont be any different than maintaining polished wheels.

Well, right. I know that I can do that, unless I put on the stickers and the clearcoat. So I'm wondering if I should leave the stickers off so that I can polish them up any time I want/need to.

Why can't you polish the bracket? You say it will rust...but why. I planned on polishing that because my calipers are painted

I've heard the same thing about the zinc coating. I don't know what it is about it, but I've heard several times that if you polish it off it'll rust pretty bad.

I wondered what decals would look like on polished calipers. Looks pretty damn good man! How do you maintain them?

I would clearcoat them, then just wipe the face off whenever I washed the car It held up very well on my personal set that way. Those are 2 I did for some other people, but I never heard them complain, so I guess it was fine...
