Spider webbing in b-pillar

Spider webbing in b-pillar I'm starting to get some odd paint cracking in the exterior center of my b-pillar. It looks a bit like spider webbing but the lines are shorter and in random directions.
The external plastic piece was replaced and painted twice by the dealer under warranty back in 2001. I watched the entire process of cutting out the old piece, gluing in the new piece, I positioned it with help from a friend with many years of auto body work, and I watched the paint shop paint and wetsand the piece.
If I have it fixed, what can I do to prevent it from recurring?
