Fender rolling question
I have tried the search but found no how to site. I looked under member profile to find a 69ta member that gets brought up in all the threads I found with fender rolling questions.
I would like to know if I can do it myself, what tools I need or if a bodyshop is my only option? Thanks.

There are two ways to do it: get a fender roller and have them rolled, or the way I did mine. I took a sawsaw and cut the inner lip of the fender( do not cut to much)in about pieces that are 3/4 of an inch long and took a good hammer and bent it up also you have to hold a piece of straight wood tight on the outside so you don`t bend your quarter. I can attach some pics later on today to show you how I did mine.
It takes some time to bend them right, because you have to be very carefull so you do not mess up the quarter.

Here are some pics. Hope you can see what I meant. For some reason the pics didn`t come out that good. Actully the came out pretty shitty, because I primed the quarter and it reflects to much. Hope I could help you.

I rented an Eastwood fender roller and a heat gun from Tony (Nine Ball) and did mine and another board member's in a few hours. It's not hard, you just have to be careful and do a little bit at a time.
-Mike
- Jack up rear, support with jack stands
- Remove wheels
- Attach fender roller to hub using lug nuts
- Make sure the e-brake is OFF
- Adjust the wheel so that it is under the lip and angled a bit
- Heat up a small area with the heat gun. Doesn't have to be super hot, maybe 100* or so. You just want to make sure the paint/clear isn't going to crack.
- Roll the wheel back and forth over the area
- Move on to the next area and repeat the process
- Keep adjusting the wheel angle to roll the lip in as desired

I bought the eastwood fender roller and did it myself. It's real easy to do and doesn't take too long. I've done 5 or 6 cars now and it keeps getting easier. Rent the tool if you can, I would say doing it the 1st time you can do it in a little over an hour
