I did the c5 brake upgrade about two years ago, so here is my .02.

I used the Bob Bishop Aluminum Brackets with all the factory Zo6 stuff including rotors. I run track days at Road Atlanta here in Atlanta, and before this upgrade, the factory Camaro brakes were just plain scary after one lap. Talk about brake fade Now since the upgrade, I run the **** out of them and they have never once dropped in performance. I also use $15/pint brake fluid too . I actually brake better than my fathers 04 Vette.

Everyday driving performance in traffic and such isn't much of a difference. It does stop a bit faster and the pedal is noticeably firmer, but it's not a huge difference. The big difference is when you really mash on the brake or are doing some spirited driving through some curves. You can REALLY tell the difference them.

The link provided is right where I bought mine from. I dealt with Tobin there and he was a VERY VERY nice and easy person to deal with. He kept me informaed of the status of the order, answered any and all questions I had, and even sent me an email afterwards to make sure I was happy with it. For the price and the service given, they really can't be beat IMO.
i have the c5 brake kit and didn't get the z06 calipers (just red anyways) and mine have the raised letters they all do. bought them brand new from the dealership too.

Thats weird. All the C5's I could find didn't have the raised Corvette lettering. Oh well. Learn something new everyday!

All of the front C5 calipers have the raised lettering. My '00 C5 front calipers had the raised Corvette lettering on the front's only, as do all the other 97+ front C5 calipers.

Hmmm that's strange. These calipers came off of a junked 2000 in a junkyard. Pulled them off of the car myself. No raised letters.

Every C5 I have ever seen has front calipers with the raised Corvette lettering. Maybe someone swapped F-body calipers on the front of the C5 you had or those PBR (some other brand, can't remember exactly) C5 non-OEM calipers. Below are examples of each year, 97-04 below all having raised front C5 caliper Corvette lettering:

Here's an '04 (gotta scroll down to the pics to see the wheel closeup showing the caliper w/raised letters):

What's the difference between the "PBR" and "standard"? That one link has the PBR's cheaper. Thanks in advance....

Here's the deal with the Corvette calipers:

The particular Caliper comes Labeled three ways:

Corvette
Bear
PBR

PBR makes the caliper. It is also one of Baer's aftermarket calipers they sell. They are all same caliper but only the ones that come from GM have the raised Corvette lettering. So it looks as if Trent bought them off of a C5 that replaced them with the PBR, but most likely the Baer ones (probably thought that since Baer offered a caliper for the C5 that it must be better when they're indeed the same caliper sans lettering).
