where are the coil packs? I can barely see one of those white tabs under the cowl. I would like to see more pics of them.

blazinws6kush - I didn't get it from a sponsor so I can't post a link. Just google search for optima battery covers. Its about $15 and I just painted it silver to match.

stangkiller2005 and daryl2cb@yahoo.com - I used the coil relocation kit from thunderracing.

http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...vid=3&pcid=273

Basically it re-locates the coil packs to mount under the cowl. If you look in the second new pic and the close up of the driver side valve cover you can see the first coil pack attached to the cowl. Thunders site also has several pics showing where the kit re-locates them. I just painted my brackets black to "hide" them better.

And I am glad you guys like the new look.

Damn. The red to black is like an instant change from circus to sexy.

Now the engine bay is as nice as the outside of the car.

how hard was it to get the coil packs up there??? it looks like you had a fun time getting them there...
seems like it would suck even more when you want to change wires or something...

Actually it frees up an incredible amount of space. I could easily change plugs and wires in less than 15 minutes now and I wouldn't have the battle scars of the typical LS1 plug change.

The install is pretty straight forward. For me it was a 2-3 hour job including paint time. You basically take off the plastic cover over the cowl, drill holes assemble the coil packs on the provided mounts, install the new mounts, and cover everything back up by installing the plastic cowl cover.

looks so much better without all the clutter in there, great job. when doing the wire relocation where are you hiding the wires? is there a write up on this somewhere? cause it looks 100x better without all the wires.
