Sail Panel Bulletin
. The rear quarters turned out nice too but now I am noticing little bubbles in the clear. A friend of mine in the business told me the quarters have solvent pop and the bubbles will get worse an eventually rupture and the clear will start peeling off
. I had my recently traded off 2002 SS T-Top repaired in Jun 2005 with 23000 miles. The dealer screwed the car up. The clear in the center part on the roof appeared fuzzy like they just went over it one time and this was on the final roof. The first one they installed was about 8 mm to far towards the rear of the car. There was a very large gap between the back edge of the T-tops and the leading edge of the roof. I told them I would not accept the car with that fv(k up hence why they did the job twice. I was so unhappy with the SS I traded it in on a family car instead of trading in my Z28 and keeping the SS
. It was that bad. I am very disappointed with GM in that they allow dealerships to provide such a poor quality of paint and body repair, especially when it is a defect repair. The car is never the same as new when they are done with it. I have a friend that had his 2002 Z28 fixed and he was disappointed. He had his work done at 1 dealer (Carrolton Texas), and my Z28 was done at another (Irving Texas) and My SS was done at yet another dealership (N. Richland Hills Texas). 3 different GM (Chevy) Dealerships, 3 different cars and all of them sucked, some more than others. I'm seeing bubbles on mine too ... not to mention clear coar pin holes on the rear bumber shelf. I'm gonna' go see the dealer next week as the link suggests. I've already called the Pont. Service center and logged a trouble ticket. They are interested in knowing what the dealer has to say.
I'll keep you folks posted on any progress.
I reside in Elkhart during the summers, West Lafayette during the school year, where in Indiana are you located?
