Default Pressure washers and your bumper...

So I got a neat little toy... yeah right... I almost cried last night, apparantly your bumper and pressure washers don't mix. I only used the 1900 psi setting...imagine how much the 2500 psi nozzle would have stripped.

Luckilly, I'm new enough to the appearance side of things that I won't loose any sleep over it and its in an obscure enough spot (bumper/rear quarter panel edge not to detract too much).

I just want to share this with any fellow ls1 owners who are considering these toys. Just want to reiterate, it WILL strip clearcoat off.

I have spent every afternoon this week stripping stain off of our deck.... with the medium nozzle

Please dont try this on your car's paint unless you are least 20 feet away

Yeah I used a pressure washer to remove years old mold and moss stains from rock slabs. I would never think to use it on a car.

if you put it on the fan mode and not a high PSI it'll work... if you have it set that it takes the color off concrete you are dumb

Ouch that would suck big time!

Perfect example why I use the garden hose set on "shower" to give the car a nice rinse before I apply wax

Mines garage stored and also I have a DD so don't have to worry about getting it dirty..thank god!

We have a very high pressure system at work that we wash the semi trucks with. I occasionally use it on my car, but I stand pretty far away.
