Joey:
I recall in the past that people didn't like the quality and stated that the kit had bolt's sticking out/visable from teh outside. Yours, by the pic's, seem to be seamless.

Is this something you did to the kit our has Bretahless updated there mold and made it seamless?

I like, a lot of other Bird owners, want a nonpopup housing w/ true HID's like the Camaro's but are limited and this kit, if it is a newer design and better quality seems worth it.

There is only one bolt that is inside the lense, and you can kinda see the little black dot, but actually the bolt was out and we painted it silver and you dont even notice it.

I have seen others that say it was a Breathless kit and had more bolts, but im not sure.

Problems with a Breathless Kit?? I can't believe that!

I'm not a fan of them either - I like the pop-ups. I haven't had any problems with my headlight mechanisms (knock on wood) but even if I did, I know I would much rather do the brass gear mod or change out the factory gears as many times as it takes rather than pay $1000 for a kit that has fitment problems and is a PITA to install

I would like them better if they used round projector style lamps rather then the rectangular ones. Course I don't like the new lights on the C6 either - to each his own.

looks like you actually have a handle on the fitment problems though...

I've went through brass gears 3 times. I guess the headlight setup was a doom for me from day 1....

Wow - I was under the impression that the brass gear mod pretty much solved the problem once and for all

I'm right in the middle as far as if I like them. I would like to see some full-car shots to get the whole picture. BTW- I think there is a picture of a black one with the kit....somewhere around here.

I think the kit looks very good on black cars.

I think also with the blackbird stripes going back on the car, it will bring the headlights out more and we'll see. Like i said, these are just spy shots for now. When i post full pics of the car, i'll also show the lighting of the lights.

Ditto.

My plan was to get some used C6 xenons, and remold that breathless tub. Just fiberglass an area for two circular styled housings. The squared headlights kill it for me.

I still feel this setup is the cats meow though.

the brass gears work great, but the body of the headlight motor itself can get worn out. what happens is the the worm gear inside that physically attatched to the electric motor can, under load, be pushed away from the gear (plastic or brass). eventually its only the tips of the teeth on each gear touching and that will chew up any gear. at that point its time to replace the motor. you can bend the tabs that hold the whole thing together back in, but for me it did no good.
