Default Fuse boxes relocation?

I've seen a few cars that have the fuse boxes relocated and I was wondering how hard exactly it is to do. Has anyone done a write-up on it or have step-by-step pictures? I mainly want to see some pics of the final resting spot and position of the fuse boxes after the relocation. Thanks, Mike.

If we get a good write-up, I'll add it to the "Hall of Fame" and the writer will be quasi-famous...at least in this forum. Think of the "Whistler" mod...this could be the <insert your user name here> mod! Okay, I'm done begging...TIA!

I wish I knew. I've never given much thought to the fuse boxes.

No one has replied, yet? I heard they can be mounted where the air pump goes. We need some pics.

This might be a stupid question, but are we discussing the in dash fuse box or the two under the hood?

i mounted mine down where the air pump was at. it was a bit of a hassle as the wire harness is pretty intent on staying where it is beings its so thick and all wrapped up but enough tugging u can get it to move. ill get some picks of it tomorrow if i remember.

ok i dont have pics of how i did it but in my cardomain you can see the plate that covers them.

the fuse boxes are mounted (they just slide on) a plastic l shaped bracket its been a few years bare with me here, once removed from that there is quite a bit of wire so you can move them, i mounted mine to the front member in the engine bay on thte driver side where nothing is anyway then the plexiglass plate covers all of it here is a pic

but the boxes them selves have tabs on them which i put one self tapping screw per side into and secured it to the brace that goes all the way across the front (core support i think) reguradless of if you cover it with something it looks a lot cleaner just becasue they are both beside each other instead of looking like someone said eh that will fit there.

ill be going out to my shop tonight to get some pics of a bumper im selling so ill shoot what im talking about on while im there, and maybe it can be dubbed the blackbyrd mod seeing as how i did this 4 years ago and never thought it was that big.

i made the hole a lot larger. gave me plenty of room should i ever need to get in there again. i loosened the harness up at the firewall and gave it a few tuggs. then just made a little bracket and bolted the stock holders to the bracket.

LS2 bait, that's pretty cool. I think with a cover panel it would really look nice.

Do you have any pics of your entire engine bay?

I want to clear all that underhood stuff out. Move the radiator, condensor and drier forward like the turbo cars do. Drop the battery down into the fender pocket by the horn (sealed Optima). move the fus boxes of course. Relocate the coils. Build an air cleaner box into the hood (Raptor) so you don't see it when you lift the hood. Move traction control over by ECM and cover them both. Route fuel lines to come from the rear. I even want to change out the power steering reservoir and move it to the side. Might move the ABS unit away from the engine a little as well. I want to pop the hood and see nothing but engine. I think it can be done.

Here is what I did with my fuse boxes.

The pics were before I readjusted the two boxes (you'll see they are not even in the pics), they look better now that they are even.
A cover for them is in the works. Once my school schedule starts to work with me.
