Hello I'm looking at buying a 2002 35th anniversary Z28, SS SLP. Red with checkered decal.
There is a tag bolted to the engine that says Car #4741 "35th Anniversary SS Chevrolet Camaro" (See Pics)
Also, The Air intake connected to the engine does not look stock as far as I can tell from looking at similar cars.
Can anyone please advice as what may be going on here? Thank you!
That plate on the cylinder head is not a factory option - that's just a cosmetic modification that someone added at some point. There used to be a company (or two) that made these (custom) to order.
As mentioned above, the air lid is an aftermarket piece from SLP.
Didn't SLP offer this air lid as an (Y2Y) option on the later SSs?
I'll admit, that is a strange place to put a plaque to show the SLP build # (or did SLP number the 35th SS cars seperately from the "run of the mill" SS cars?).
Date car was built is 01/02 . I'm just concerned that the engine may have been rebuilt or modified. Ago the car shows like new with lees than 4k miles.
