never using "Gunk" cleaner again!!!
i was going to clean under my hood this weekend and used "Gunk" aka "Junk" and when i started to wash it off it took all the paint off the parts i have painted. (glad i found that out now i am about to get true fire on my lid and intake) but of course it had a little over spray and got on my front glass and alittle on my fenders and bumper and put a little haze on my car! i am soooo mad. can anyone give me some tips about the paint on the car and how to get the haze off. not so worried about the lid and intake more less the cars paint. hope it is as easy as wax or buff.
Sorry to hear about the paint though... you are probably going to have to use an agressive rubbing compound on the damaged area, then buff.
I use it on very greasy engines (If I'm detailing someone's engine bay), then follow with CD-2 engine detailer.
But for plastic and painted parts, I only use a very mild detailing spray.. (ie, Meguiar's QD, Poorboys Spray & Wipe, etc.)
You can also use water, in a spray bottle with a few drops of dishwashing detergent. It works great.
Good lesson learned.....
