Default Painting billet grille?

How would it hold up? I have a polished grille now but I'd like to paint it charcoal to go with my wheels. I'm also ordering some charcoal overlays for my z28 emblems and the rear camaro letters.

Do you think it would look good and how do you think it would hold up?

I would normally say painting with some multiple layers of clear would be fine, but considering it's a grille and going to be the first thing to take road "abuse", I would probably opt for powder, although that is not totally resistant to chips, etc.
