I actually had photoshopped out the gay stripes first, then went ahead and body colored the mirrors. It looks SOOOOOOOOOO much better IMO

!The Black Halo on a Firebird will flow better with the design than it does on the Camaro. Because the Camaro's design for the side mirrors carries over from the lines on the fender those mirrors should have remained body color, but Chevy made a bad decision and painted them black.(Never made sense to me)
The side mirror design on the Firebirds is seperated from the rest of the car, being as they are not "connected" to flow with the fender.
Take it in as a whole, with the T-Top being black and the outside A-pillar being black trimmed it makes sense for not only the side mirrors to be black but for the Sail Panel to be black also. This definitely looks best when the glass is tinted nice and dark to let the Whole Black Halo effect completely flow.
I'm proud that my CETA is the only Firebird to come with a Factory Black Halo. (well, other than Black birds, they get it by default, hahah)

I thought it would look good but after seeing those pics I don't really like it too much. Plus black is a bitch to keep clean, trust me. theres a guy here local he has a red lt1 trans am with the b-pillar painted black. It looks like a$$. You have to do it a certain way. You have to make sure the body color lines up with the color on the spoiler. Thats the difference when doing this to a camaro vs a firebird. The bottom of the b-pillar has that little lip that is actually the front of the spoiler. If you paint that lip black the spoiler looks out of place. If you paint it the body color and then start the black directly above that, then it looks ok. Still, it only comes on camaros as a way to cut a corner and save an expense. It was never meant to look good, but rather be a cheap production step. Line all the b-pillars up at paint them all at once that way you dont have to waste time switching to match every car's b-pillar to its body color etc etc. This is one of the "luxuries" the pontiac gets along with the mirrors.
EDIT: i just looked, the red trans am on page 2 as opposed to the CETA above illustrates the differences im talking about. Look at the red ta. Notice how the little lip doesnt line up with the spoiler? the red runs smack dab into the black. Thats when it looks like crap. the factory recognized this when doing the CETA and never made the mistake

My red 95 Camaro looked awesome w/ a black top. Along w/ 15% tinted windows, it looked amazing. If i had another 4th gen camaro, it would also have a black top, given it wasnt NBM. To me, its a must on a camaro.
Its been a while since I posted anything or anything on this topic but I finally got the mirrors and sail panel painted sapphire black metallic and I am very happy with it. I also had the front bumper and fenders repainted so now I'm very happy with the car overall. Will post up pics when I can.
Both ways look good to me, But Im with most on black mirrors....they just dont flow with the car. Actually, I think black tops look great with T-Tops but if you have a hardtop then the top color/canopy should all match.
I think the black top with the NBM is too much dark. For NBM I vote leave it alone. The black on the yellow, SOM, red, Pewter, and Silver looks bitchin! Black mirrors makes the cars look more muscle/race. I want to spray a metallic orange candy over my silver WS6 and paint the spoiler (with shaved 3rd brake light), mirrors, sail panel and tops of hood scoops black...with black/chrome ring rims. Swat
