No, it does. Radio reception is worse with these antennae.

I'm no fan of powered antennae either, in the long run they absolutely will break, and are obiously more expensive than a 5-10 new rod on a screw on antennae....damn Nissan I have now, motor runs and runs and runs...no retraction, annoying!

Personally these shorter antennae look strange to me, they only seem to fit on roof mounted cars. Lol, I like the GIANT-RC CAR look!

I have had no issues with reception. I live about 30-35 miles from center city Philadelphia and I can still pick up all the Philly stations that I picked up before.

I beg to differ...its a loaded base antenna. Which means that inside there are winds of wire tha "electriclly" make up the diffrence...

Honestly I have to say its not my cup of tea - I'd go !antenna all together or leave it alone. It looks like it belongs on a Saab 9.3?

Your car looks great otherwise
