My !antenna mod and the aftermath of being "Bitten"

So i did a few mods:
First I took out the screw inside the S2000 antenna which left a small hole inside the antenna. You can do this with some vice grips and a good bit of effort.

I had the idea to mate the antenna with the base directly by cutting off the base of the stock antenna. Which takes a while to grind off from ther rest of the antenna.

and using jb weld to glue the S2000 antenna onto the base of the stock antenna.
This wouldnt work at first because the base of the stock antenna was too thick and too long so i smoothed it out with a grinder and made it shorter.

Here's that piece installed.

I gave this piece a good coat of JB Weld and put the S2000 antenna on top. You'll have to hold it down and let the JB Weld dry for a little bit. Then leave it alone for a few hours before you drive.
Here is the finished product:

I think it looks cleaner and more stock than with that dark black adapter piece but you can check it out for yourself. And by the way my radio still works perfect but I cant say that yours will to. So do this at your own risk. Enjoy the mod.

But the problem is that the antenna windings are attached to the threaded portion on the inside..now all you have is a chunk of rubber stuck to you base...
The height of the base has always bothed me too..but it is what it is
