If you mean the texture on the panels there already then i must completely disagree with you on that one, i think it makes it look better, makes it look like it was stock like that and that it belongs. To me, with any appearance mod, the more it looks like it came from the factory, like it really belongs, the better.

any texture vs no texture pics out there? I can see it being smooth looking better. but i can also see a more factory texture look looking good as well. What kind of sand paper is used and whats a quick run down of the process, any primer (or similar) stuff used?

Hey, how did you replace the fabric on the roof? There isn't much of it but it is still there.

I agree with Josh. If you are gonna paint something high gloss then you need to go through the effort of sanding it down to give it the slick finish. Now if you wanted it to still look like it came from the factory that way then you wouldnt be painting it with a high gloss in the first place, and it would be no more than a satin finish. Aesthetically anything with a high gloss is gonna reflect more therefore you want the surface as smooth as possible to give the best reflection. Now if you are going for a satin finish that isnt going to show the texture as much or as drastic then I say ignoring the smoothing process isnt all that bad as far as looks go.

those painted interiors look damn good guys...

how do they handle in VERY HOT areas? temperatures where i am hit 110 sometimes, and leaving the car parked out in the summer under the sun will probably result in cracking/fading... anybody know how these interiors will do in that situation, or with relevant experience?

if you're going to sand the grain away to be smooth, DON'T do the dash...at least not if you plan on driving in the sun. Reflections are great except when they're off the windshield. I resent the comment about attention to detail, because I spent copious amounts of time blacking out my interior and was far from sloppy in execution. The pebble grain is personal preference--I wanted fairly stock appearance but not stock color. Now if I had a show only car...sanding would be a definite possibility.

Guys, please sont spray paint your interior. Here is why, when you get a scuff/mark on your plastic, 99% of the time you can wipe it right of. When your interior is spray painted, that **** aint coming off. It is gonna be there untill you spray it down with more paint. Plus black will fade to a milky looking color over time. And on top of all that it is just gay. If you wanna add some looks to your interior, go with some billet, maybe a new **** or guages, maybe some nice floormats. If you REALLY hate your color scrap together some black/grey/tan parts at a junkyard/online and do a swap. But don't ******* spray paint it!!

is it the same way to maintain as oppose to having the stock interior?

Yeah, you can use armor-all if you like, but I have enough gloss already so a damp cloth suffices for cleaning.

No, you do not rub armor all on any painted surface.

if the surface has been sealed I really don't see the problem in putting armor all on it.

if you do it right, paint doesn't fade to that milky color. Gay? I'm sorry I thought we were talking about cars, not sexual orientation.

Mine is now 13 months old and I have no cracking or fading, BUT if you don't choose your paints correctly (like putting krylon fusion on the soft door handles or console lid) you will get cracking and/or remaining tackiness.

Thanks for totally missing the point in this thread, I said ideally I would like to just swap it all for black, but thats not cheap, spray paint is and it CAN look good. I bet you wouldnt have even known contrastrikers interior was PAINTED if he didnt tell you.

Ok everybody, lets be cool and use spray cans to change our interior colors, god what a joke! Leave your damned interior alone or go out and buy the colors you want.
