hids and fogs done
hids and fogs done i got ahold on some hids from an rx330. so i took my fogs out and sealed the bulb in there. wokred out but im kinda worried about 2 thing. i leave the fog light switch on so when i set the alarm the fogs flash. is this goin to be bad for the hids since they dont heat up all the way and shut back off? and also they r hot and only about a quarter in away from the cover for the fog light. will that b a problem? do u think they will melt? i have not seen them at night yet so i will let you know how they look.
mmm yea do not leave the switch on, making HIDs go on and off fairly quickly will cause lots of flicker outs and severely shorten the life of the bulb. They really do not get that hot. I can go and aim my hid fogs after they've been on for an hour and it doesn't feel hot at all, but I work on hot engines all day so my judgement of heat maybe different from yours, but it def. isnt as hot as a halogen bulb!
