Default Help! How do I install hatch glass

Can someone walk me through what I need to purchase and do to install this new glass?

We're all pretty handy with engine and turbo stuff but I don't think anyone who works on my car with me has ever touched anything like this before.

Thanks

You should just need a seal press. I beleive that is what they are called. When I installed mine I put it on with the hatch off. There is a groove that the glass sits on. You just get it lined up right in the groove and then lay out the weather stripping. Then very carefully press the strip into the groove to hold the glass. You may need some glass adhesive from AutoZone. Mine was clear but it won't be seen once the stripping is on. That should be about it.

Sweet, that answers my question - glass adhesive is just something i can buy off the shelf or will they have to order it?

got a pick up? just take it to a glass shop, it should be like 50.00 to put it in if off the car, much easier, and you won't have any leaks, or if you do you have a warranty. I try to do everything my self, but glass and body work are best left to the professionals.

No pick up, and its not like we are fitting new panels on the car or something. We will give it a try and see how it goes.

You should be able to pick the adhesive up off the shelf. It just windshield glass adhesive. I put a light bead of silicone in the groove before I put the weatherstripping on. That way I knew I would have no leaks 1 yr later no leaks and mine looks better than the factory job.
